You may not be asking for enough stuff" as the saying goes.

I would like to append this.

"If you get everything you ask for, you may not be asking for enough stuff which will lead your friends to ignore your calls/emails/texts."

Don't take advantage of your friends by asking them for everything under the sun. This goes for customers, suppliers and employees. Be the one that knows the limit and your friends will be more willing to take that call when you need them the most.
